Linceul
Acrylic paint on canvas, mixed media: large cloth. Canvas 200x150cm Linceul means shroud in French, one of my native languages. A shroud can be described as a cloth used to wrap a dead person, and here a shroud is suffocating the female face on the painting. Her hair painted in purple, complements her blue eyes, which she drags down with her fingers. Influenced by Fabian Marcaccio, a disgusting imagery of a tired face, covered with a painted cloth over her mouth, depriving her of speech, while she is suffocating in her own thoughts. Trying to make sense of those thoughts, memories, ideas and ways of thinking, she loses sense of reality.
